The brief
Being locals, building on stunning Omaha Beach was an absolute honour, and we recognised that the completed property had to hold its own among the other prestigious surrounding properties. The finished architecturally designed coastal beach house boasts five bedrooms and two living areas split over two levels. Sitting elegantly off the main road at the very northern point, it is mere metres away from the estuary and surf beach. This carefully designed open plan property retains its privacy with a significant emphasis on entertaining and indoor/outdoor flow. It allows its lucky owners to lock up and leave if desired with a fully fenced section fringed with mature palms as part of the easy-care landscaping.
THE BUILD
Working hand in hand with our architectural design team, every inch of this magnificent build was considered. Taking advantage of all Mother Nature has to offer meant ensuring windows in all the right spots to take in the enviable coastal views and allowing plenty of natural light to stream in all day. The materials used to complete the property were chosen to ensure longevity and the ability to stand up to the marine environment while maintaining a degree of class. Utilising local interior designer Celene interiors and landscape designer Lucy Barry means that the finished property is perfection from the moment you arrive at the front gates.
THE STAND-OUT FEATURES
Picturing the future owners of this contemporary property, we envisioned busy people who wanted an escape from everyday life’s stresses. The house has two master suites complete with ensuites – one on each level. This design feature allows the owners to surround themselves with family and friends but ensures them a place to retreat. The double-storied property provides numerous options for year-round alfresco entertaining on the extensive decking. The upper level is home to; not just a perfectly proportioned open plan kitchen, dining room and lounge but also has an enviable outdoor kitchen with ample heating, allowing those en-situ to enjoy sunset cocktails without worrying about dropping comfort levels. Being in such proximity to both estuary and beach means that storage for the numerous beach toys was an essential factor. A full-height alcove in the ample double garage was included in the design, allowing everything to be safely locked away while not sacrificing car space.
